Weekly Update January 18

It will be above zero Saturday!!!

No more weather talk, because it appears I curse it just by talking, but it will be north of zero degrees Saturday, likely by a margin so good running weather.  In the snowy winter months in Wisconsin training can be hard, so I wanted to share a short article that Craig Toerpe sent along that is really helpful in terms of thinking about strength training in the winter.  Be sure to give it a read.

I am hoping that your early parts of the New Year have been encouraging as you take on your fitness and health goals and make sure to have fun and give yourself grace on the road.  Wisconsin winters are not build for the best speed work, or perfect footing, and requires us to adapt and adjust our training regularly, so have fun with it!!! (Yes running up and down the Meekwon sled hill with children, and sleds is good cross training in case you wondered).

Group Run: We will meet at the Community Gym in Cedarburg 7am Saturday morning, and head North on the “John Taylor Route.”  You can see the full route if you follow the group run link to our website.  There will be water and Gatorade on the route, but feel free to carry what you need also.  Thanks to Doug for setting our the water buckets this week!!

Per usual, hang around after our run for a cup of coffee at Fiddleheads!!!
