Weekly Update 8.23.18

Read to the bottom- lots of good stuff here

Let’s get right to it, lots to update you on this week:

Badgerland Half Marathon– This weekend a number of our runners will be running the Badgerland Half Marathon at Estabrook Park in Glendale.  It is a low key race that utilizes portions of the Oak Leaf Trail, and finishes with a full hot breakfast in the beer garden, with free beer (feel free to bring your own stein or mug).  We have a number of runner that will be there, so be sure to say hi, and grab a beer and breakfast with other Run Ozaukee members if you head down to run it.

Columbus Marathon Bib– Keith Sohr, one of our own has suffered an injury and will not be able to run the Columbus Marathon as he had hoped.  He is not able to defer the entry, but could transfer it to another runner, and he is more than willing to talk about sharing the cost of the race, if you wanted to run it.  Send Keith a note ([email protected]) if you want more information.

Running Clinic– Another Run Ozaukee runner, Rob Meilbeck has recently completed his advanced degree in Physical Therapy, and is now working with Fyzical Therapy and Balance Centers, who are putting on a workshop for runners at Real Health and Fitness in Cedarburg on Monday August 27th 6:30-7:30pm.  You need to RSVP to hold your spot, so be sure to sign up soon if you want to attend.  A flyer with more information is attached to this email.

Group Run: We will meet at the Community Gym in Cedarburg 7am Saturday morning, and head North on the “John Taylor Route.”  You can see the full route if you follow the group run link to our website.  There will be water and gatorade on the route, but feel free to carry what you need also.

Run, Run, Run: Summer and fall are traditionally race time, so please let us know what races are on your schedule, so we can cheer you on!!!

Per usual, hang around after our run for a cup of coffee at Fiddleheads!!!
