Good morning crew!  I hope your weeks have gone well, and that you have been able to get some good runs in this week.  I know some of you are preparing for spring races, and that weather has been challenging to log good miles outside, but stick with it, the groundhog claims that winter will end sooner than later….maybe. Weather looks decent for our run Saturday, and we are going to be doing a scenic and simple route this week.

Weekly Update 2.7.19

When did we move to Seattle?

The last few weeks have not been particularly runner friendly weather days with lots of ice, rain, bitter cold, and bad footing.  This might be a great chance to get some cross training in, some yoga, weight training, or to head to an indoor track or treadmill to log your miles.  Like last week I will post the route today, but ,may adjust based on weather, footing and other conditions.  I will monitor the forecast, but please watch our social media feeds on facebook and twitter for the most update information on this weekend’s run.  If there are any major changes or cancelations, the goal is to make those by dinner time so that we can provide ample time for notifying everyone.

Heat Wave this weekend

Yes I know that is a bit exaggerated, but the temperature difference between yesterday and Sunday is projected to be about 60 degrees, so that.  Hope you all have stayed warm in this historically cold temperatures the last few days.  The temps are supposed to tip back to allowing us to run outside safely by tomorrow morning, so if you have cabin fever, we are almost to the end.

Weekly Update 1.24.19

Group Run Canceled

It appears that the weather is finally turning towards what we have all come to expect, snow and chilly.  A front is on it’s way in as we speak that will settle of WI for about the next week or so.  This means lows below zero for about the next week with wind chill values well below zero.  Due to the wind chill warnings for the next few days, we will not be having a group run this weekend.  Often we recommend that runners head to the Petite Center for a nice indoor venue, but they are hosting a running event this weekend on Saturday.  Find a nice treadmill or indoor track at a local high school this weekend, or hop on a bike, swim, or find a class.  We we will hopefully get a little warmer weather and be back outside next weekend together.

Stay warm and stay safe this weekend as these frigid lows settle in for a bit.
