Weekly Update 8.15.18

Key ingredient to running your best: Not running?

As many runners I have a bit of type A in me, and that drives me to be competitive, as well as to push myself, because well, most people don’t ever think that running 15-20 miles to start their Saturday is a good idea.  One learning that I have both experienced first hand and been reminded of recently is that how and what we do as runners for rest and recovery can be as important as your Tuesday speed work, or your pacing on a long run.  I encourage you to read this article, and to be sure that you take care of your body and nutrition as well on off days, as you do on those hard workout days.

Group Run: We will meet at the Community Gym in Cedarburg 7am Saturday morning, and head out on the “Rustic Road Route.”  You can see the full route if you follow the group run link to our website.  There will be water and Gatorade on the route, but feel free to carry what you need also.

Extra Miles: I am going to be running 20 miles this weekend, and plan to be doing some of those miles before we start our 7am group run. If you would like to join me for any number of extra miles, please just text me 414-491-5131 so we can coordinate meeting up.

Run, Run, Run: Summer and fall are traditionally race time, so please let us know what races are on your schedule, so we can cheer you on!!!

Per usual, hang around after our run for a cup of coffee at Fiddleheads!!!
