Weekly Update 10.18.18

Fall is here!!!

It seems that fall is in full swing, one of my favorite times to run with cool but often not cold weather.  I wanted to share with you all another uplifting story, because well, we all could use more of that in our lives.  Runner’s World shares the story of a disabled runner who found both community, and encouragement from a local run club, that she can do far more than people ever imagined.

Group Run: We will meet at the Community Gym in Cedarburg 7am Saturday morning, and head out on the “Rustic Road Route.”  It should be a great time of year to enjoy all the colors on that scenic route.  You can see the full route if you follow the group run link to our website.  There will be water and gatorade on the route, but feel free to carry what you need also.

Good luck to Doug, Kati, Lexi, Juan, Rosa, and Nicky who will all be at the Fall 50 this weekend.  Represent Run Ozaukee well, and have a blast!!!

Per usual, hang around after our run for a cup of coffee at Fiddleheads!!!

Weekly Update 10.11.18

We get to do this

First of all I want to say congratulations to all of those who completed marathons this past weekend!!!  As always just to toe the start and cross the finish lines is doing something that a very small % of people have ever done, so enjoy the accomplishment.  It is a humbling reminder that we get to do this, that we are blessed with bodies, and resources so that we can run these races and enjoy this journey together.

As a great reminder of this, Nike made a surprise appearance at a University of Oregon cross country meet, with a huge surprise for one special athlete, who takes very seriously the blessing of running.  Grab some tissues and take two minutes to watch it.

Group Run: We will meet at the Community Gym in Cedarburg 7am Saturday morning, and head North on the “Grafton Route.”  You can see the full route if you follow the group run link to our website.  There will be water and Gatorade on the route, but feel free to carry what you need also.

Per usual, hang around after our run for a cup of coffee at Fiddleheads!!!

Weekly Update 8.30.18

PSL, really?

I am not sure your thoughts on the afore mentioned beverage, but Starbucks has released earlier than ever the Pumpkin Spice latte, which to me says fall.  Fall for us means race time, long runs, and much more relaxing running conditions, so get out and enjoy cooler temps for your runs. No matter your feelings on PSL, it appears that this week signals that temps are eventually going to move closer to sweatshirts and jeans weather, maybe.

Group Run: We will meet at the Community Gym in Cedarburg 7am Saturday morning, and head South on the “Meekwon Golf Course.”  You can see the full route if you follow the group run link to our website.  There will be water and Gatorade on the route, but feel free to carry what you need also.
