Weekly Update 12.21.18

Merry Christmas (early)

Thank you to John and Linda Taylor for hosting our Run Ozaukee Christmas gathering on Tuesday.  It is always a joy to sit and spend time with each of you and to hear about your non-running lives.  Enjoy the Holidays starting this weekend, and hopefully a chance to catch you breath a little as we look forward to 2018.

Just a reminder there will also be a bonus Christmas Day run at 5:30am.  We will meet behind Smith Brothers coffee in Port for a short run to kick off Christmas Day.

Group Run: We will meet at the Community Gym in Cedarburg 7am Saturday morning, and head North on the “John Taylor Route.”  You can see the full route if you follow the group run link to our website.  There will be water and gatorade on the route, but feel free to carry what you need also.

Per usual, hang around after our run for a cup of coffee at Fiddleheads!!!

Weekly Update 12.13.18

Lots of holiday updates

Run Ozaukee Christmas PartyJohn and Linda are graciously opening their home to the Run Ozaukee group again for a Christmas party on Tuesday December 18th.  See the flier for more info.  Please R.S.V.P. your attendance to [email protected]  or 262-930-7428.

THE Run Ozaukee shirts: If you ran “The Run Ozaukee” and have not gotten your shirt please email me so that we can coordinate getting it to you.  If did not run it, but would like one we have some extras.  They are soft short sleeve shirts and are only $10.  If you are interested let me know, and we can make sure you get one ASAP.  Here is a shot of these comfy shirts:

Run Ozaukee Mileage Challenge: Welcome to our first annual Run Ozaukee Holiday Challenge.  No awards, no pressure, just a fun way to work towards a common goal in a hectic season for most people.  The idea: Either aim for 100 or 150 miles between December 1st and New Years 2019.  It is between 23-35 miles per week depending on which goal you aim for.  No pressure, but just a fun way to share in staying on track, and staying fit as we head into a time of year that it can be easy to drop off, with Holidays and no races around the corner.  If you are are Garmin or Strava you can see fellow Run Ozaukee Members working on this goal.

Again no trophies, no medals, but consider choosing a mileage as your goal for this month, and encourage your fellow Run Ozaukee members as they aim for their goal too!

Group Run: We will meet at the Community Gym in Cedarburg 7am Saturday morning, and head out on the “Kaehler’s Mill Route.”  You can see the full route if you follow the group run link to our website.  There will be water and Gatorade on the route, but feel free to carry what you need also.

Per usual, hang around after our Saturday morning run for a cup of coffee at Fiddleheads!!!

Weekly Update 11.15.18

Pick me up of the week

Check this great running story from the California wild fires:

Gabe Price, a senior XC runner for Paradise H.S. lost everything to the CA Camp Fire, his families house, all of their belongings, including his running shoes, gone.

He was unable to make it to the sectional meet

2 days later, he was given an opportunity to run the course alone pic.twitter.com/B8Ju5Ur0zk

Last weekend we completed the first annual “The Run Ozaukee,” it was a great experience, I highly recommend it for those who were unable this year.  Shout out to Dan and Erik for all your hard work putting it together, it was a great experience and after party.

Group Run: We will meet at the Community Gym in Cedarburg 7am Saturday morning, and head North on the “John Taylor Route.”  You can see the full route if you follow the group run link to our website.  There will be water and gatorade on the route, but feel free to carry what you need also.
