Weekly Update August 7th

Camp time!!!

I am sending you this from ZAP Fitness Run Camp in Blowing Rock, NC, where I am at camp, like some of you used to do as kids.  I am with runners of a variety of abilities from all over the country, hanging out with Amby Burfoot, our speaker for the week, and getting trained by Zap Fitness elite runner’s coaches!!!  So have a blast this week together, and I am excited to bring some stories and updates in the coming weeks!!!

Group Run: We will meet at the Community Gym in Cedarburg 7am Saturday morning, and head North on the “Cedar Creek Route.”  You can see the full route if you follow the group run link to our website.  There will be water and gatorade on the route, but feel free to carry what you need also.

We are now on our summer schedule so there will also be a social run each Tuesday evening at 6pm starting at the Cedarburg Community Gym.

Weekly Update July 31

It’s already August

I can’t believe the calendar flips to August tomorrow.  The summer seems to be flying by quickly.  It is time for those last summer vacations, registering kids for school, and the sun is not staying up quite as long each day.  But our weather for running has continued to be incredible, as so many of you are preparing for end of summer/early fall races!!!

Group Run: We will meet at the Community Gym in Cedarburg 7am Saturday morning, and head out on the bike trail along a route we have done for a bit: MAP.  Route is about 10 miles, but feel free to add or subtract mileage as you desire from our route.  There will be water and gatorade on the route, but feel free to carry what you need also.

We are now on our summer schedule so there will also be a social run each Tuesday evening at 6pm starting at the Cedarburg Community Gym.

Weekly Update 7-18

Is it me or is summer is going fast?

I feel like I looked up today and we are well into summer, and fall is far too close.  Hope you have all been enjoying the wonderful weather for running so far this week, with lows in the 50s and 60s.  As always let me know if there are races coming up so we can cheer you on.  Please send your thoughts and prayer out to Rosa, she crashed on her bike  this past weekend at a 1/2 Ironman and has a fracture thumb, clavicle and rib.  Speedy recovery Rosa, hope you are back at it soon!!!

Group Run: We will continue our summer test run of a Tuesday night run, meeting at 6pm tonight at the Cedarburg Community Gym Parking lot for a 5-6 mile social run.  Saturday morning, we will meet at the Community Gym in Cedarburg 7am Saturday, and head south on the bike path and be running the “Meekwon Golf Course Route.”  It is a bit shorter than some of our routes, at about 9 miles and change.  You can see the full route if you follow the group run link to our website.  There will be water and gatorade on the route, but feel free to carry what you need also.

Over the river and through the woods…

Happy Belated 4th of July!!!

Hope you all had a wonderful chance to celebrate our nations independence with friends and family.  This week let’s cut right to the chase:

Group Run 7-8: This Saturday we will meet at the Cedarburg Community Gym at 7am per usual and head North out of town on the “Cedar Creek Route.”  If you click group run it will take you to our website with all the maps of our routes.  This route is just over 10 miles, but as always feel free to add miles before or after, as well as to only do part of the route as you chose.  There will be water and Gatorade on the route, but feel free to carry your own fluid and fueling as you want.

Need more Gatorade!!! Thank you to all those who have already given to our annual hydration drive.  We are doing well with cases of water, but if you are willing bring along a case of gatorade this week to our run.  This will be out last week of formally calling for hydration donations

Fireworks and a 5k

Fireworks a 5k and more!!!

We are already approaching 4th of July, it seems like summer goes by so quickly each year!!!  Hope you enjoyed the Strawberry Festival in Cedarburg this past weekend.

4th of July DK5K: There is a 5k here in Cedarburg on 4th of July that Tuesday morning that begins at 7:30am.

Tuesday Run: We are now on our summer schedule so there will also be a social run each Tuesday evening at 6pm starting at the Cedarburg Community Gym.  See our website for some of the routes we use on Tuesdays.

Group Run (Saturday): We will meet at the Community Gym in Cedarburg 7am Saturday morning, and head North on the “John Taylor Route.”  You can see the full route if you follow the group run link to our website.  There will be water and gatorade on the route, but feel free to carry what you need also.

Lastly just a reminder that we will again be collecting Gatorade and Water for our annual hydration drive July 1 and July 8.  Your donations help to fill the water buckets each week on our group runs!!

Group Run 6-24

Thank you Run Ozaukee!!

This past weekend I ran Grandma’s Marathon and was overwhelmed in the weeks leading up, and even since the race of the incredible encouragement of this group!!!  Thank you so much for your texts, emails, and other encouragement on this journey.  I got a little greedy pacing, and did not make my Boston Qualifying time at Grandma’s, but am ready to make the BQ at the Chicago Marathon this fall.

Congrats to Craig, Doug, and Ryan for completing the Hartfest Half Marathon this weekend, and representing Run Ozaukee there!!!

Run, Run, Run: Summer and fall are traditionally race time, so please let us know what races are on your schedule, so we can cheer you on!!!

Is it hot out there?

This past week I did my runs in Florida, and began adjusting to running in high humidity, 80-90 degrees, and then came home to it hotter here than there, so looks like summer is here to stay for now.

First things first, congrats to Kati, Chris, and Nick for their completing the Rock N Sole Half Marathon last weekend and to Lucy for her another win in her age division on a 100 mile run!!!  Keep sending along the races you run of all lengths, so we can cheer you on!!!

Cheers and prayers appreciated as I (Bill) run Grandma’s Marathon in Duluth this weekend.  If you can set water out please contact me directly, and I can get you the water buckets for this week.

Group Run(s): Just a reminder we are now on our summer schedule so there will be a social run each Tuesday evening at 6pm starting at the Cedarburg Community Gym.  We will do 4-6 miles easy pace for a nice social run.

Saturday we will be running the “Kaehler’s Mill route.”  Meet at the Community Gym at 7am, then we will head out on this route that is just about 10 miles.

Group Run 6-10

Happy Friday everyone.

First of all, good luck to those that are running any of the Summerfest Rock ‘n Sole Runs or the Ragnar Relay Chicago this weekend!  Please keep us posted on any other upcoming runs.

Group Run:  We will meet at the Cedarburg Community Gym on Saturday at 7:00 am and head out on a new route starting on the Bike Path towards Grafton on the “Lake Shore Route.”  The route is close to 11 miles and there will be water along the way.  You can review the entire route if you follow the group run link on our website.  There will be water and Gatorade on the route, but feel free to carry what you might need.  Remember to join us afterwards for coffee at Fiddleheads!

Tuesday Night Run:  Remember that we have added a Tuesday night run to our schedule.  We will meet at the Community Gym at 6:00 pm on Tuesdays this summer for a 5-6 mile social run, so please come out to join us.

Saturday Run 5-27

Good morning crew!!!

We are headed into Memorial Day weekend, the official start of summer sort of.  Fire up the BBQ,  grab a cold beverage, and hopefully enjoy some time and space to relax and catch your breath.  Onto our weekend and upcoming events!!

Just a reminder that we are cleaning out our mailing list!!!  This is your last email unless you sign up  for our mailing list.  This also will allow us to update our waivers and better connect with and serve all of you.  Take minute this week to add yourself to the mail list!!!

Saturday Run: We will meet at the Cedarburg Community Gym at 7am and head out on the Bike Path towards Grafton on the “Fire Ridge Route.”  The route is about 12 miles and there will be water along the way.  If anyone is looking for some early miles I (Bill) will be at the Gym parking lot at 5:40am for 8ish early miles.  Please send me a note if you want to join me.  As always hang around after at Fiddlehead’s for a beverage of your choice and to talk life, running, or whatever comes up that day.

Tuesday Summer Runs!!: This week started our Tuesday summer runs.  We will meet at the Community Gym at 6pm on Tuesdays for a 5-6 mile social run, so come on out to join us if you can.
